Wednesday Sep. 28th, the children of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mickey made them a surprise party to celebrate the 38th, anniversary of their wedded life. The surprise was a success. They were overwhelmed with joy, and the friends and neighbors all testify to having had one of the happiest days of their lives. There were over 60 persons present, young and old who feasted socially and dined royally at the tables which groaned with the skillfully prepared luxuries.
When the company had all arrived they were assembled in the spacious parlors where the bashful bride and groom were to renew their vows. A few appropriate remarks were made telling that Mr. and Mrs. Mickey were born in Ohio and that therein "Joe" met his "Mary Ann" whom he afterwards wedded in Iowa.
