Thanks to her unbelievable memory, birthdates, names, marriage dates, deth dates and places for each event, were recalled for her family many times so that we could always keep the names of those she grew up knowing, or grew up hearing about, in our hearts, too.
She was life lit on fire and passed on her strength, or at least the bravery to try and believe oneself strong, to her many descendents and loved ones around her.
Having reached age 93, she would often say, "Growing old ain't for sissies". :)
She was of Choctaw or Chickasaw Native American descent through her grandmother (possibly Cherokee; out of some type of "shame" her grandmother Kyle would not share details), Frances Virginia Kyle Shasteen, Cherokee through her great-grandmother, Martha E. Taylor Shasteen, and Scottish through her Kyle line. She had plenty plenty of other lines, but the Scots-Irish/Scottish and Native American were often spoken of. Whatever her hereditary mix was, she came out a "fine blend". :)
