Ruth Francis Roelofson Stroop, 102, Sarasota, died March 4, 2008.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home.
Survivors include her daughters; 17 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was born in Kansas City, Mo., where she met and married her husband, Edward Clyde Sr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, and her four sons, John Jacob, R.B.H. "Bud" III, Edward Clyde "Sonny" Jr. and Gerald "Jerry" D. Sr.
She and her husband raised their family in Cristobal, the [Panama] Canal Zone. In 1954 they retired from government service to Sarasota.
Ruth was very devoted to her family all her life. She was a beautiful seamstress. She was very active in Faith Presbyterian Church and later became a member of Fellowship of Believers.
Her greatest accomplishment was her deep love for her growing family.
