A service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, in Spring Ridge Court at Charbonneau for Martha M. Thompson, who died Jan. 9 at age 93.

Martha M. Arney was born Aug. 2, 1915, in Prosser, Wash. She graduated from Woodburn High School and also lived in Tillamook, Cottage Grove and Eugene. She was a nurse's aide. She married CHARLES THOMPSON; he died earlier.

Survivors include he sons, David Thun, Dennis Thun and James Thun; daughters, Joyce M. Shafto and Glenna Mahany; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

A celebration to life service takes place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13 for Martha M. Thompson of Wilsonville, who died Jan. 9, 2009, of natural causes. She was 93 years old. An interment tkaes place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Eugene.
Thompson was born on Aug. 2, 1915, in Prosser, Wash.
She graduated from Woodburn High School in 1933. She married Paul Stillman Thun in 1934 and moved to Tillamook. They moved to Cottage Grove in 1948, and she worked as a nurse's aide at Cottage Grove Hospital. And Sacred Hearth General Hospital. Paul died in 1973. She married Charles Thompson in 1982 after moving to Woodburn. They lived in Seattle and Shoreline, Wash. Charles died in 2004.
She moved to Wilsonville in 2004. Thompson was very active in the Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by sons, David Thun of Vancouver, Wash., Dennis Thun of Aurora, James Thun of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters Joyce Shafto of Winnipeg, Canada, Glenna Mahany of Maple Valley, Wash.; stepson Dale Thompson of Seattle, Wash.; stepdaughter Donna Thompson of Belle Plaine, Iowa; 15 gradnchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a stepson, Dick Thompson.

She was born Aug. 2, 1915, in Prosser, Wash., to Marion and Hilga Johnson Arney. She married Paul Thun in 1934. He died in 1973. She married Charles Thompson in 1988 and he died in 2004.
She graduated from Woodburn High School in 1933. She worked as a nurse's aide at Cottage Grove Hospital from 1953 to 1959, then moved to Eugene and worked at Sacred Heart General Hospital. She retired in 1980.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Shafto of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Glenna Mahany of Maple Valley, Wash.; three sons, David Thun of Vancouver, Wash., Dennis Thun of Aurora and James Thun of Phoenix, Ariz.; a stepson, Dale Thompson of Seattle; a stepdaughter, Donna Thompson of Belle Plaine, Iowa; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. A stepson, Dick Thompson, died previously.
