Mr. Burke, an employee in the City Sanitation Department for 18 years, died at 6 a.m. Sunday in Hendrick Memorial Hospital.
Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park under direction of Kiker-Warren Funeral Home.
Born March 17, 1886 at Donaldton, Hunt County, Texas, Mr. Burke moved to Abilene in 1905. His home was at 730 Pecan St.
Surviving are the widow, the former Hattie Greer, a daughter, Mrs. Z. S. McCracken, Abilene, two grandchildren, Jimmy and Kathy McCracken, three sisters, Mrs. Joe Pope, Abilene; Mrs. Charles Goode, Clyde; and Mrs. Mattie Davis, Cisco; and a brother, Dalton, of Abilene.
