Lester O. Hague, 65, a retired Lafayette fireman, was dead on arrival at St. Elizabeth Hospital at 8:35 PM Sunday [Jan. 21, 1973]. He had been ill for several years but death was unexpected. He was born in Salem, and in 1927 was married to Lillian M. Waples, who survives.
Mr. Hague came to Lafayette 55 years ago. He was a firefighter for the City of Lafayette for 32 years, retiring in 1960. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and Lafayette Firefighters Association.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Rose Hinton, Dorothy (Mrs. Clarence L.) Jackson and Ruth (Mrs. Jack) Neuman; one son, William E. Hague, all of Lafayette; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
