Ed worked as a mover for E. F. David House Moving Company. The company was founded by his father and was a family business for many years.

At the time of his death due to a coronary occlusion, Ed was 62 years and 25 days old.

He was survived by his wife; 2 sons; and 1 daughter.

He was buried on 04 Nov 1947. Ed's wife, Bessie, passed away in 1977 and was buried next to him.
