RESIDENT DIES
IN PONCA CITY

Last rites were conducted at the Red Rock Christian church Friday afternoon for Mrs. Mary Ann Carpenter, 91, oldest resident of Red Rock, who died at a Ponca City hospital after a three weeks' illness.
Rev. J. Morris Mulkey, assistant pastor of the First Baptist church in Ponca City, officiated at the service.
Pallbearers were Dick Carpenter, A. A. Wieldn, R. G. Ferrier, C. B. Sullins, G. M. Bilbrey and Fred Haynes. Burial was made at a Red Rock Cemetery.
Mrs. Carpenter was born in Morrison county, Indiana, and had been a resident of Red Rock since 1916.
Survivors include a son, Arthur Carpenter, Wellsville, Missouri; two daughters, Mrs. J. R. Bruce, Denver, Colorado; and Mrs. Malissa Stanley, Ponca City; two brothers, William Ritter, Adel, Iowa; Ed Ritter, Garden City, Kansas; two sisters Mrs. Lucinda Gowens, Tacoma, Washington; and Mrs. Debra Hughes, Independence, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Relatives attending from out-of-town were Arthur Carpenter and Mr. & Mrs. A. B. Carpenter, Wellsville, Missouri; Mr. & Mrs. J. W. Watson and two sons, Tulsa; Mrs. Malissa Stanley and Mr. & Mrs. O. E. Stanley, Ponca City; Mr. & Mrs. J. R. Bruce, Denver, Colorado; Mr. & Mrs. Will Bruce, Ponca City; Mrs. T. R. Rogers and daughter, Kansas City, Missouri; Charles Burge, Chicago, Illinois; Levona Bruce, Mrs. Francine Duncan and daughter Braman and Harold Bruce, Houston, Texas.
