He was born October 16, 1943 to Leslie (Jack) and Frances (Thimes) Bass, in Emporia, KS.
In his early years he grew up in Americus, KS. The family moved to the suburbs of Wichita, KS, where Bob attended Derby High School. He played football for the Arkansas City Junior College. He attended Wichita University and Friends University, while working at Boeing. His parents divorced and his mom moved the family to California. Bob worked for McDonald Douglas (now Boeing), from where he retired after 40 years, due to health problems.
Bob married Maneerat Ngamsuntikul in January of 1985. They lived in Moreno Valley, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Elaine Casper.
Bob is survived by his wife, Maneeerat, of the home; two sisters, Marla Hewitt and husband Jimmy, of Council Grove, KS, and Jeanette Borgs and husband Hubert, of TX; two brothers, Thomas Bass and wife Suki, of WA, and Danel Bass, of CA; several nieces and nephew, cousins and friends.
At his request, Bob was cremated.
A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Cottonwood Cemetery, west of Emporia, KS.
