Andrew Perkins, 89, died, Thursday, Aug 4, 1955 at 9:30 am at his home in Sherrard. he had been ill about 2 years.
Mr Perkins was born April 23, 1866 at Boden, the son of James and Mary Jane West Perkins. He spend his life in Mercer county, most of it in Boden. He was a retired farmer and coal miner.
His marriage to Eliza Jane McKay took place at Aledo Nov 7, 1894.
Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs Betty Hergert of Sherrard, Mrs Lillie May Dalhberg of Silvis, Mrs Dorothy Hergert of Orion; 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephew. His parents, three sons, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug 6, at 2 pm from the Presbyterian church in Sherrard. Rev Ralph Adamson officiated and burial was in Aledo cemetery. Pallbearers were Ray Sunbeck, Charles Kinsey, Byran Kettering, Kenneth Huggins, LeRoy Borst and Dick Hickman. Singers were Mrs Cain and Mrs Dodog of Cable accompanied by the organist, Mrs Bina Douglas. THE TIMES RECORD8-10-1955 , SEC 3, P 1
