Mr. Wright was born on Wilson Creek, September 6, 1894 and would have been 50 years old had he lived until tomorrow. He was the son of the late Elmer D. and Byrdie Wright and is survived by his wife Florence Hall Wright, one son, John, Jr., and two daughters, Miss Juanita Wright and Mrs. Clarice Cox, the latter of North Carolina. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Frank Maloney of Eagle Rock.

Mr. Wright had resided here most of his life and was employed by the C&O as a locomotive engineer. He was a member of the Mthodist church, I.O.O.F. and the brotherhoods of Firemen and Engineers. He was a man of sterling integrity and enjoyed the esteem of all who knew him.

The services were held by his pastor, the Rev. J.A. Johnson, and interment was in Mountain View Cemetery. The following served as pallbearers: Jesse Campbell, D.M. Thomas, E.M. Agnor, Jimmy McCool, E.R. Bran, S.H. Clarke, R.L. Colvin and L.C. Hill. The honorary bearers were chosen from the Odd Fellows and Firemen and Engineers.

Mr. Wright died from injuries sustained while working for the C&O Railroad.
