He was married to Mary A. Rathbun in 1790 in Richmond, MA. This tombstone with the initials E.S. is near Ezekiel Sanford, his brother. (Or as another contributor pointed out, this could be the footstone of Ezekiel.) His widow was found in Wales in 1820 so it is assumed he died between 1810-1820 and is buried here. Ezra and Mary were the parents of 5 children, Martha, Mary Ann, James, Malachi and Eliza.
