Laura M. Arens

Funeral services are pending at the Claffey and Rota Funeral Home for Mrs. Laura Mary Arens, 84, who died Friday at a convalescent hospital after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Arens came to Napa five years ago from Wynot, Neb., where she and her late husband, Fred Arens farmed for a number of years. She was a native of Nebraska.

She is survived by two daughters, Sister Majella of the Sacred Heart College, Yankton, S.D., and Mrs. Edna Dowling of Napa; four sons, Paul Arens of Napa; Francis Arens of Orick; George Arens of San Mateo and B. Joe Arens of Yuba City.

Also surviving are two brothers Zeno Suing of Hartington, Neb., and Alfred Suing of Lincoln City, Ore., and two sisters, Nora Melrose of Sturgis, S.D., and Miss Edna Suing of Fordyce, Neb.

Mrs. Arens was a member of St. Apollinaris Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America.

Prior to her death she had been living with her daughter, Mrs. Dowling at 2930 Piedmont St.

Rosary will be said Sunday at 8 p.m. at St. Apollinaris Catholic Church.

Friends are invited to meet Monday at 10:15 a.m. at Claffey and Rota Funeral Home to proceed to St. Apollinaris Catholic Church for a Requiem Mass at 10:30. Burial is to follow in Tulocay Cemetery.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 12 at St. Apollinaris Catholic church at Napa, Ca, for Mrs. Laura Mary Arens, 84, who died Friday, August 9, at a convalescent hospital after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Arens moved to Napa four years ago from Wynot, where she and her late husband, Fred Arens, farmed for a number of years. She was a native of Nebraska.

Mrs. Arens was a member of St. Apollinaris Catholic church and the Catholic Daughters of Hartington. Prior to her death she had been living with her daughter, Mrs. Erna Dowling.

She is survived by two daughters: Sister Majella of the Sacred Heart Convent at Yankton, SD and Mrs. Erna Dowling of Napa; four sons: Paul Arens of Napa, Francis Arens of Orick, George Arens of San Mateo and B. Joe Arens of Yuba City.
