Mrs. Della Lee Painter, 71, wife of Harvey M. Painter, of Stanley, passed away at 11:40 a.m., Monday, Oct. 31, at the R.M. Hospital after being ill for nine weeks. A daughter of the late Henry Petefish and Angeline Painter Petefish, she was born at Stanley on Nov. 27, 1883, and spent her entire life in Page County a devout member of the Alma Primitive Baptist Church. She was married to Harvey M. Painter on Nov. 25, 1901. Mr. Painter survives her with the following children: Leon M. Painter, of Aliquippa, Pa., Mrs. E.A. (Linda V.) Bradley, of Stanley, Gilbert A. Painter, of Verbena, Robert L. Painter, of Stanley, Mrs. Fred (Jeanette) Walters, of Belle Air, Md., Harvey G. Painter and J. Medford Painter, of Stanley. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, two brothers, Leonard Petefish, of Rileyville, and Elmer Petefish, of Stanley and one sister, Mrs. Lottie Painter. Elder A.F. Sudduth and Elder F.E. Thompson will conduct the last rites Friday morning at 11 o'clock at the Alma Baptist Church. Interment will be in the family cemetery.
