His brothers and sisters were: Annie Leahey-Leap (1877-), Regina Leahey-Denny (1880-1963), Alma Leahey (1882-), Jeremiah Leahey (1883-1975), Agnes Leahey (1885-1977), Harry Michael Leahey (1886-1973), Marenta Leahey-Sweeney (1890-1962), Brady Phillip Leahey (1892-1968), Francis John Leahey (1899-1957), and Pauline Leahey (1901-1973).
Edward married Agnes Johanna Bradley (1879-1948) on Oct 15, 1904, in Cambria County. Agnes was a daughter of Dennis Bradley (1834-1898), and Margaret Fitzpatrick (1846-1912), both born in Ireland.
Edward and Agnes settled in Lilly, where Edward worked in the coal mines. They had six/seven children: Geraldine Leahey-Covington (1906-1968), Emerson J. Leahey (1908-1963), Marian C. Leahey-Robine (1909-1979), Kermit Leahey (1911-1959), Creeda A. Leahey-Smith (1914-1996), and Dennis F. Leahey (1916-1991).
Edward died on Jan 19, 1944, in Cambria County, and both he and his wife are buried in St. Brigid Cemetery.
