Floy Esther Jones Porter, was the oldest child of 10 children. Her parents were Silas M. Jones and Nancy "Nanny" Lucinda Shumate Jones. She was married, very young, Arthur "Hal" Porter and they made their home in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They had two boys, Haskell and Gerald. Floy died of a brain tumor at the age of 36 years old in 1929, leaving a family that adored her. She never turned away someone in need, "marseilled" ladies hair to help bring income to her family when her husband became ill with Yellow Fever, loved her children and family and was beautiful, inside and out.
