Eva Utley

Eva Lavinia Utley died Thursday, Oct. 1 1994, at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital. She was 89.

She was born July 5, 1905 in San Francisco to Jess Silver and Adelma Riddle. She moved to the Flournoy area in the early 1920's and married Kenneth L. Hanks. Mr. Hanks died in 1975.

She worked for 37 years as a packer for Maywood Packing Company. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Red Bluff and enjoyed making crafts.

Surviving are: husband George Utley of Red Bluff; daughter Sandra Hanks Craig of Etna; sisters Muriel Ricker of Redding, Blanche Micchi of Lafayette and Ruth McDonald of Paradise; grandchildren Lana Trede of Red Bluff, John Flournoy of Chico, George Flournoy of Reno, Nev., and Rhonda Leddy of Red Bluff, along with four other grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by sons Kenneth L. Hanks Jr. and Ronald David Hanks, who died Wednesday.

Visiting hours are from 6 to 8 today at Hall Brothers Mortuary chapel. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Paskenta Cemetery.
