Royal Granville Leftwich, age 65, of Route 1, died April 2, 1983. He was born May 25, 1917 in Bedford County, a son of the late Waller Leftwich and Florence Andrews Leftwich. He was a retired contractor and was a member of Nicropolis United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Lacy Leftwich; three daughters, Mrs. Jeff (Joan) Karey, Jacksonville, AK; Ann Leftwich, Richmond; and Cathy Leftwich, Evington; one brother, W. R. Leftwich, Big Stone Gap; one sister, Mrs. Hilda Millner, Rustburg; five grand-children and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Willie Guill officiating. Burial will be in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Updike Funeral home, Bedford, VA.
