William Nelson Langston, son of the late Dempsey and Mary Jane Langston, was born July 14, 1914 in Wideman. He died January 19, 1996 in Pineville. He was 81.
Mr. Langston, was united in marriage to Alfie Christa Bell Sherwood August 8, 1943 in Calico Rock. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Calico Rock and a member of the Wild Cherry Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; one daughter, Christa Lee Langston of Calico Rock; four sons, William Langston of Batesville; Nathan Langston of Slidell, Louisiana; Jimmy Langston of Sherwood; and Charles Langston of Little Rock; one sister, Renee Burgess of Calico Rock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Services were held January 22, 1996, at the Calico Rock Methodist Church in Calico Rock with Bro. Loye Vern Mason and Bro. Rodney Aist officiating.
Pallbearers were: David Burgess, Doyle Ingram, Willis Hankins, Alfred Yound, Jim Mark Ingram, and Eugene Sullins. Honorary pallbearers were: Adley Bell, Noel Burgess, Kirk Boyd, Jame Houghtaling, Junior Owens, and David Smithton.
Interment was at the Spring Creek Cemetery in Calico Rock under direction of Howard Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
