Jakob Andor, my great grandfather, was born in Deutschbentschek, Hungary (now Bencecu de Sus, Romania). He was the son of Mathias Andor and Magdalena Ebner. He married Julian Krug Bauer sometime between 1880 and 1882 in Hungary. Jakob came to this country October 4, 1904 - arriving at Ellis Island with his wife and three of his five children. Two of his children arrived the previous year. His family settled in St. Louis, Missouri originally. In 1906, his wife Juliana passed away. Jakob went to North Dakota and lived with Jacob Jr. and family but also traveled and spent time with his other children. Jakob passed away September 20, 1933 in Zenith, North Dakota and is buried at Belfield, North Dakota.
