Son of Albert James Petty & Bessie McCall Petty. George had 3 brothers Robert James, Dale, And Rex Albert. 2 sisters a baby, stillborn, and Velma May, who died when she was 12 years old. George served his country in the US Navy 1944-1947.

George married Ruth Maria Boch on August 26, 1948 in Carson City, Nevada. They had a beautiful baby boy named Douglas; he died as a small child. Then they were blessed with 3 daughters Jill, Leslie and Kelly. George and Ruth made their home in Santa Rosa, Ca.

George married Frances Jackson around 1970. He retired in 1989 as a General Contractor in Santa Rosa. George and Fran enjoyed traveling in their motorhome. He enjoyed visiting Hawaii.

As for me Uncle George has a special place in my heart. Shortly after my father Rex was killed George came to Modesto to get my mother and I. I was not close with him as I grew up but little thing people do makes a differents.

George Petty passed away June 29, 2009. Dearly beloved husband of Frances A. Petty of nearly 39 years. Born May 16, 1926 in LaMar Colorado; preceded in death by his three brothers; one sister; a son, Douglas Petty; a daughter, Jill Petty; and a step-son Glen (Benji) Jackson. Survivors include his daughters, Leslie (Mike) Perry and Kelly (Rey) Rodriguez; step-children Christine (Michael) O'Connell, Lynn (Ray) Jones, Ryan (Debbie) Jackson and step-daughter-in-law Nicki Jackson; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. George served in the Navy 1944-1947. He later became a general contractor in Santa Rosa, which he retired from in 1989. He enjoyed working and taking trips to Hawaii. Upon retirement, George and Frances traveled four years in a motor home; then they settled in Yuma, AZ; moved to Visalia, CA and returned to Santa Rosa about one year ago. George was a quiet man and will be missed; he left us with good memories.
