Services for Mr. Bilyeu were held May 18 in the harris Funeral Home , Ozark, with the Rev. Kenneth Lupton officiating. Burial was in the Sparta Cemetery.
Mr. Bilyeu was born March 26, 1901 in Rill to the marriage of Isaac & Zelda Bilyeu.
He began working for the postal service in 1917, delivering mail on horseback.
During one part of his service as a postman , he held the same mail route for 31 years.
When he retired in 1970 , he had accumulated 50 years of service as a postal carrier in the Ozark, area.
Mr. Bilyeu was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Ethel in 1965.
Surviving are two sons, Everett, Sparta,Leonard, Springfield, three daughters, Marie Willis, Sparta, Margie Ogden , Sacramento, California, and Ellen Trout, Nixa, two brothers , Elmer, Sparta, and Alpha, Springfield, a sister, Ethel Back, Asbury, 17 grandchildren, 36 great -grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives.
