The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home, Neoga, with Rev. Alan McCalister officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery near Neoga.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to the Neoga United Presbyterian Church or the Lung Association.
He was born May 16, 1904, in Coles County, a son of Charles F. and Mary S. Worley Barber. He married Gertrude Roberts Nov. 5, 1922, in Charleston. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Charles E. of Rockford and Gail of Effingham; one daughter, Mrs. Stanley (Beverly) Weber of Dixon; one brother, Robert Barber of Elmhurst; four sisters, Mrs. Leta A. Cook of Champaign, Mrs. Freda Jones of Arrowbear Lake, Calif., Mrs. Mary Nell Claus of Cisne and Miss Mildred Barber of Mattoon; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Barber was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Neoga United Presbyterian Church, Independent Order of Odd Fellows at Neoga and the Cumberland County Farm Bureau.
