He resided in San Angelo where he was a barber for many years and finally retiring in 1994. He moved back to Gatesville in 1997 and was a member of the Gatesville Masonic Lodge 197 A.F. & A.M., where he received his 50-yuear pin in 2003. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.
Travis was 75 years old at the time of his death on July 14, 2004. He was preceded in death by a sister, Neoma Southland; and two brothers, Arthur Raymond and Ernest Roy Holden.
He left a son, Steve; two daughters, Debbye and Cindy; two sisters, Ella Hollingsworth & Estelle Boynton; two brothers, Garlan Holden and Raye Holden and several grandchildren.
Travis was buried at Greenbriar with Masonic Rites.
