Pioneer of Oxcart Days Dies, Age 71
Mrs. Annie Florence Fink Came to Texas in a Covered Wagon From North Carolina
Mrs. Annie Florence Fink, 71, who came to Texas from North Carolina in a covered ox wagon with her parents, died at 4 p.m. Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. U. S. Browning, 2416 North Twenty-second street.
Funeral services will be held at Compton's funeral home at 3 p.m. Friday, Rev. Gaston Hartsfield officiating, assisted by Rev. J. W. Chisholm. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.
Pallbearers will be L. L. Howard, H. A. Klein, R. P. Teaff, M. M. Mount, Eugene Wood, J. C. Sloan.
Surviving is one son, M. L. Fink, Waco; two stepsons, R. G. and W. C. Fink, Houston; four daughters, Mrs. Browning, Mrs. F. B. Cable, Mrs. K. G. Teaff, all of Waco, and Mrs. Frank Craddle of Rosebud; three sisters, Mrs. F. S. Montgomery, Mrs. J. J. Potts, and Mrs. E. B. Brogden, all of Waco; a brother, A. Y. Patterson of Bryan, and four grandchildren.
When she first came to Texas Mrs. Fink settled in Bryan, where she married the late C. F. Fink, coming to Waco 35 years ago and making her home here since.
