Fatal Shooting Affray.
Purvis, Oct. 19th - Wiley A. Blackburn, editor of the Progressive Star, of this city, was shot and instantly killed here today by Dr. Sam E. Reese, editor of the Purvis Booster. The two editors appeared before the election commission to sumbit bids for the printing of the ballots to be used in the general election, and while together renewed a feud between them of long standing. Both men are prominent in this section and the shooting created a great deal of excitement. Members of the election commission endeavored to reach Reese before he fired but were unable to grapple him before four shots had penetrated Blackburn.
