Edith Furr Almond, age 88, of Albemarle, NC, passed away on Saturday, May 8th, 2010 at the Sterling House in Columbia, SC.

Her family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and her funeral will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 11th, 2010 in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel. Rev. Ron Honeycutt will officiate and burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory.

Born December 15th, 1921 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Henry Franklin Tucker and Ethel Irene Tucker and retired from the Wiscassett Mill Co. after 42 years.

She and her husband, Marvin, were owner/operators of Mino-Pond for many years. She attended Anderson Grove Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Furr, and her second husband, Luther Almond.

She is survived by her son, Johnny Furr and wife, Sheryl of Lexington, SC; sister, Flora Russell Cranford of Albemarle, NC; grandchild, Tamara Maness of Albemarle, NC; and two great-grandchildren.
