Jean Brice Brown Adams Johnson, departed this life on Fri, May 15, 2009. She was the widow of Rhodric Johnson. A native of Lexington, KY, she was the daughter of the late William Hamilton "Pete" Brown and Louise Jones Brown. She was a long time member of the Pilgrim Baptist Church Choir and she was the Sunday School Superintendant. A charter member of the Zeta Amicae of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, she was amember from 1961. She was retired from Metropolitan Medicare Program.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Elaine Brice Adams Wilson of Somerset, KY; and Deborah Louise Adams Slaughter, of Lexington, KY; grandchildren Kevyn Eugen Slaughter, Winchester, KY, Derek LaMonte Slaughter, Lexington, KY, David Paul Wilson, Richmond, KY, Jonathon Clark Wilson, Ft. Benning, GA, and Nicholas DuRandall Wilson, Washington, DC, great-grandchildren; Tiffany N. Slaughter, Kevyn E. Slaughter II, Trinity Elaine Wilson, and Jordan Slaughter; great-great-grandchild; Dai Maya Slaughter. Siblings; Della V. Brown Stone, Vernice S. Brown Hinton, Lucille S Brown (James T.) Bright, and William R. (Verneeter Jones) Brown, all of Lexington, KY; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special friends; Bertha Thomas, Ethel Graves, and Hope Hickland; The Pilgrim Baptist Church Family and particularly long time friends; Rev. and Mrs. H.R. Smith. She was preceded in death by siblings; Mildred Brown Beatty, Elizabeth Brown, Loretta Brown, Eleanor Brown Gordon, Otis Brown and Louis DuRandall Brown and first husband Cecil Bland Adams.

Funeral Services will be held on Tue, May 19, 2009 at 12:30pm at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 541 Jefferson St, Lexington, KY. Visitation from 10:30am until time of service at the church.

Burial will be at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, KY. Smith and Smith Funeral Home in charge of Arrangements.
