Minnie E. Lewis, age 87, of Alma passed away suddenly Sunday, February 24th at her residence. She was a native of Coffee Co. but had lived in Bacon Co. since 1947. Minnie was the daughter of the late Sid Anderson and Minnie Wright Anderson and preceded in death by five brothers, Eldon, Grady, D.S., Hawley and George Anderson and three sisters, Ineva Streat, Maybell Adams and Anne Lee Whitley. She worked at the Bacon Co. Primary School Lunch Room for 10 years and was a member of Wesley Chapel Congregational Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Julian Marcus Lewis, Sr., three sons, Julian Marcus Lewis, Jr. (Bonnie), Earl Lewis (Frances) and Tony Lewis (Molly), one daughter, Joyce Rigdon (Rev. Tommy), 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 26th at 11:00 AM at Wesley Chapel Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Tommy Rigdon, Rev. Mark Carver and Rev. Jason Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf Pit Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 9 PM. Active pallbearers will be: Greg & Randy Lewis, Dustin & Stevie Lewis, Scotty & Rodney Rigdon. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
