Mrs. Lavina Bishop
Mrs Lavina Bishop, whose death occurred last Thursday was born more than sixty years ago in Michigan. About five years ago Mr. and Mrs. Bishop left their home in Brandon near Independence and came to live with their son at Dutchtown, this having been their home ever since.
Mr. and Mrs Bishop have lived very happily through their forty years of married life and the bereaved husband and their nine children surviving will feel deeply the loss of a worthy wife and a good mother. Eleven children were born to deceased and her husband, two who preceded the mother in death. Of the remaining children, all but one, a daughter, Laura, who lives near the Missouri line were with her at her death, Mrs. Lewis of near Dubuque, a daughter of Brandon, Mrs. James Clugston of Louisiana, who has been here since early spring helping in her care, Mrs. Parker of near Greeley, the two boys at home, Frank of Dubuque, and a son at Aurora were here to attend the funeral which was conducted Sunday by the deceased's cousin, Rev. Martinsdale of Greeley.
