Valerie Ann Hager Adkins, 35 years of age, departed this life on Wednesday May 5th, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Valerie was born on March 8th, 1975, daughter of Burch Hager and Debbie Parks Hager. She was a 1993 graduate of Jessamine County High School and attended Lexington Community College, she was a former member of 4-H and FFA and was known for her love of horses and music.

She was survived by her husband, Wesley Adkins; one son, Tyler Jo Murphy; one daughter, Savannah Lillian Adkins; one sister, Misty Lemay Hager; one brother, Joshua Todd Hager; her father & mother-in-law, Wes and Drema Adkins; her maternal grandparents, Bobby and Ann Parks; her paternal grandmother, Mary Anna Hager; aunts and uncles, Terry Hager, Johnny (and Donna) Hager, Jan (and Mike) Hager, and Teresa Walker; cousins, Anna Hughes, Karen Hager, Hope Hager, Vance (and Vickie) Hager, Chastity Garner, Aaron (and Karen) Hager, Deana Tuminski and Jeremy Walker.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Bob Hager; a cousin, John Michael Hager; an aunt Brenda Hager, a special great grandmother, Lillian Fain and a special friend Nolie Blakeman.

Visitations were held from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 9th, 2010 and from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 10th, 2010 at the Betts & West Funeral Home.

Her pallbearers were, Josh Hager, Vance Hager, Aaron Hager, John Murphy, Norman Messer, Mike Gill, Tommy Gill, Jimmy Gill and Joe Morris. Her honorary pallbearers were, Tyler Murphy, Karen Hager, Anna Hughes, Hope Hager, Tonya Messer, Lisa Caban, Joan Reynolds, Melanie Fairchild, Chasity Garner, Deana Tuminski and Jeremy Walker.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 10th, 2010 in the Chapel of the Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Sean Shroll and Mickey Stinnett officiating.

Burial followed in the House Cemetery.
