He was the Son of Daniel Payne and Jane Blackburn. He had two sisters; Nancy and Maria E.
He married Mary M. Turner 6 Oct 1858 in Perry County Alabama.They had 1 daughter; M. Virginia Payne who later married Eli Sargent.
Cause of Death: Diarrhea
Medical Information: Sent to Tullahoma, TN sick 11/18/1862 Military service: 1/24/1862, Enlisted in Civil War
