W. M. Bowman died January 31, 1944.
He had married three times, first to Hattie Hamilton, second to Esther Britt, who with all his children by her, preceded him to the grave. He married the third time to Arbie Middleton and to this union, seven children, four of whom survive: Clyde Earl Bowman, Billy Joe Bowman, and Mary Elvie Bowman and Martha Francis Bowman.
He is also survived by three brothers, John T. Bowman, Ben F. Bowman and Claude McKinley Bowman; and a broken hearted mother, Zilpha Bowman, 86, who made her home with him.
A large crowd gathered at the Chapel Hill Church to hear Rev. R.L. Rogers preach his funeral.
