Frank Renfro, 78, a resident of Lagrange township for more than 36 years passed away at St. Francis hospital at Litchfield at 6:45 a.m. Friday [4 Oct 1946], following a stroke of paralysis sustained at the home of his son, Earl, north of Ayers, Wednesday. He was taken to the hospital Thursday.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday [6 Oct 1946] at Union Grove church, the Rev. Peter Hill of this city officiating. Interment was at Union Grove cemetery. The Donnell Funeral Home was in charge.

Mr. Renfro was born 2 Apr 1868 in Mulberry Grove township, the son of the late Hiram and Mary (Elmore) Renfro and was aged 78 years, seven months, and two days. He was united in marriage in 1892 to Ellen Rosine Grigg of Mulberry Grove and about 30 years ago they moved to Lagrange township. Eleven children were born to this union, 10 of whom survive. They are Robert of Detroit; Ernie, Hiram and John of St. Louis; Earl of north of Greenville; Mrs. Ruby Mullen; Mrs. Edna Beck and Mrs. Irma Busch of St. Louis; Mrs. Amy Richardson and Mrs Nellie Vecellio of Detroit. One son Harold died in infancy. He is also survived by his wife, Mrs. Ellen R. Renfro and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Largent of Detroit and one brother William Renfro of Pana. Three sisters , Mrs Delia Koonce, Mrs Mary Blankenship and Mrs Fannie Bauer have preceded him in death.

Mr. Renfro was a member of the Baptist church at Mulberry Grove having united with the denomination early in life.

The pallbearers were Arnold and Lester Christin, John and Truman Morris, Henry and Virgil Hunter, Otto Whitaker and Charles Alderman. Flower girls were Marie, Dorothy and June Hunter, Elvera McCracken, Shirley Morris, Barbara Hill, Florence and Anna May Davis.
