Wayne Stribling, 50, died Monday, November 13, 2000.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Central Baptist Church with Dr. Derrell Monday, pastor, and the Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor of First Baptist Church of Childress, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mr. Stribling was born in Pampa. He graduated from Mobeetie High School in 1968 and from West Texas State University in 1972. He moved from Canyon to Pampa in 1979.
He was owner and operator of Wayne's Western Wear. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was a member of the Top O'Texas Rodeo Board and the Top O'Texas Junior Livestock Association.
He served on the National Bank of Commerce Board and was a Chamber of Commerce Goldcoat. He served on the board of Pampa Economic Development Corp. In 1991 he received the Small Business Award from the State of Texas and in 1998 was awarded the Western Image Award for Single Unit Retailers.
He married Carol Whitson in 1971 at Hollis, Okla.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Scotty Stribling of Amarillo and Seth Stribling of Amarillo; his parents, Clinton and Maurita Stribling of Mobeetie and two brothers, Tom Stribling of Dumas and Roy Stribling of Sayre, Okla.
The family suggests memorials be to the building fund at Central Baptist Church, 513 E. Francis, Pampa, TX 79065.
