Melvin L Peterson,55,died Monday at the Powell Nursing Home where he had been a resident since 1970.
Mr. Peterson was born Dec 29,1919,at Deerfield,Kans., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gust Peterson. He attended school at Holcolm,Kans., and then farmed with his parents until 1937 when the family moved to Whistle Creek near Powell.
Survivors include three brothers, Victor Peterson of Fort Scott,Kans.,Edward Peterson of Warm Springs,Mont.,and Fred Peterson of Powell; and one sister, Doris Rohrabough of Dodge City,Kans.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Easton Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Nott officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
