Funeral services for Herman Friday, 64, were held Feb. 7 in the Sheets and Son funeral home in Tipton with the Rev. Harold Gillaspie officiating. Burial was in the Sand Hill cemetery near Tipton.
Pallbearers were William Schmidt, Junior and Leonard Bromell, Robert Friday and Robert and Kenneth Simmermaker. Mrs. Irma crawled was organist and Mrs. Robert Friday was flower attendant.
Mr. Friday died Feb. 4 at the Wood nursing home in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness.
The son of Joseph and Elizabeth Bruhn Friday, he was born at Tipton April 24, 1901 and was educated in the rural Cedar county schools. A painter by trade, he had been a resident of Cedar Rapids since 1942.
He is survived by a brother, Louis, Geneseo, Ill. and 4 sisters ,Mrs. Emma Simmermaker and Mrs. Joseph (Rose) Bromell, Tipton; Mrs. C. H. (Martha) Northup, Clarence and Mrs. Fred (Ella) Clough, Banning, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
