Mrs Elizabeth Blackmer, 81, a resident of Beloit and vicinity for the past 75 years, died at 3 a.m. today(May 29, 1942) at her home, 747 Lincoln avenue here, following a lingering illness.
Mrs. Blackmer was born Feb. 3, 1861, at Gates, Monroe county, New York and came west with her parents when she was five years old. The family settled on a farm in Newark township, where she lived for many years. Before her marriage to George H. Blackmer Dec. 5, 1883, she was Elizabeth Ellen Fiese. Mr. Blackmer died eight years ago.
Surviving are a son Elmer Blackmer, Beloit; six daughters, Mrs Mina Campbell, Burdett, Alberta, Can., Mrs Alta Smith, Neshkora, Wis., Mrs A.A. Allen, Miss Esther Blackmer and Mrs Florence Paschke, all of Beloit, and Mrs. Violet Bigford, Lake Forest, Ill.; a sister, Mrs Mary Haas, Rockford; a brother John Fiese, Richmond, Va.; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Sunday at the Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer chapel. The Rev. H.A. Studebaker of the Second Congregational church will officiate. Burial will be in Eastlawn cemetery.
