Respected Resident Of The
Pelican Rapids Community
Is Mourned
Pelican Rapids, Dec. 13. (Special) - This community was shocked and grieved by news of the death Friday afternoon of Bernard Huseby, well known farmer and life long resident. Mr. Huseby resided five miles west of the village.
He had been in failing health and had been under the care of a doctor since last summer. At times he suffered intense pain, and it is thought that despondency over his condition caused his death. Thursday he had assisted his son-in-law, Arthur Haiby, in dressing turkeys and appeared in better health than usual. Friday he was about his home as usual and had dinner with his wife and daughters.
Later he went outside and when he was gone an unusual length of time, the family investigated and found his body hanging in the barn, his death apparently having occurred about 2:30.
Mr. Huseby was 63 years old on March 4 last. He was born in Norwegian Grove and had lived his entire life in this community. Surviving are his wife and four daughters - Mrs. Arthur Haiby, Mrs. Bernoff Johnson, Mrs. Stanley Pederson and Miss Alice, who is at home. One son, Harry, died in 1935.
Mr. Huseby was a highly regarded citizen and an industrious man. He had built up a find farm and leaves a host of friends who will extend sympathy to the bereaved family.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 from the home with burial in the Pelican Valley cemetery.
