SALIDA — Frank J. Butala, 83, a well-known Salida builder, died May 2.
He was born Oct. 7, 1926, in Salida. He joined the U.S. Marines in June 1944 and was discharged in July 1947.
In 1948, he started his construction business by making cabinets. He launched Butala Construction company with a few employees and built it into one of the largest in the state.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary is set for 7 p.m. Thursday at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial is set for 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
