Houston County Courier, May 21, 2006:

Mrs. LaVerne Marie Craven, age 84 of Lovelady, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 20 in the Houston County Nursing home In Crockett. Mrs. Craven was born May 11, 1922 in Mt. Pleasant and was a retired seamstress and a member of the Pearsons Chapel Baptist Church where she served as their treasurer for many years.

Survivors include her three daughters Betty Jordan and husband J. T., of Pearsons Chapel, Bonnie Goodrum, of Houston, and Tinker Broxson and husband Jerry, of Lovelady; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Preceded in death by her husband Jack Craven; and grandchildren Melinda Goodrum, Donna Goodrum and Randy Goodrum.

Funeral Services for Mrs. LaVerne Marie Craven were held Thursday, May 18, at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Vertis Curry officaiting. Interment followed in the Bynum Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bynum Cemetery Association, c/o Eloise Adams, 185 C.R.1045, Crockett, TX 75835.
