Former Resident of County Is Buried -- John H. Gontjes, 70, Dies at Home In Hinckley, Minn. -- John H. Gontjes, 70, who lived in Osceola County from 1883 to1915, was buried in Hinckley, Minn. Monday, February 27. He was born January 29, 1863, in Germany. When eight years of age he came to the United States with his parents; residing in Illinois until 1883 when they moved to a farm southeast of Sibley. April 22, 1903, he married Miss Lizzie Schrieber in Sibley. The famly lived on a farm near Allendorf until March of 1915 when they moved to a farm near Hinckley. He died at noon February 25 with burial being made two days later in the Rosehill Cemetery in Hinckley. His wife died in December, 1931. he is survived by: Three children, Marion, Martin and Margaret; and five sisters, Mrs. George Schuster of Fulda, Minn., Mrs. Knudt Schmidt of Worthington, Minn., Mrs. Maude Buchman of Cherokee and Mrs. John Schroder and Mrs. Ed Paygle of Sibley.
