Funeral services for John Merle Pletcher, 82, will be held at the Dye Funeral
home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. A. C. Long in charge. Burial will be
in the South Bethel cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lance Schilling, John Dickinson, Lloyd Dickinson, Olin Fell,
Raymond Fell and Francis Schilling.
Mr. Pletcher died at 7 p.m. at the Woode Nursing home, following an illness of
about a month.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Pletcher, he was born Jan. 13, 1876 on a farm
south of Tipton. He was married to Elizabeth Schilling Jan. 18, 1905 at the
Henry Schilling home in the South Bethel neighborhood.
He was a farmer in the South Bethel neighborhood until he retired. He was a
social member of the Moose lodge.
Mr. Pletcher is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ethel Barclay, Englewood, Calif., a
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Merle Pletcher and a granddaughter. He was preceded in
death by his wife, a son, Merle, a brother and four sisters.
