Cecil Lee Lockhart, age 80, died Thursday, October 25, 1990 in Collingsworth General Hospital.
Services were conducted Saturday, October 27, 1990 at 3 p.m. in First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jesse Dea, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors.
He was born in Pilot Point, Texas on August 12, 1910.
He and Ruby Downing were married January 19, 1933 in Duke, Oklahoma.
They moved to the Loco community in 1935 from Oklahoma and then into Wellington in 1958.
Mr. Lockhart drove the school bus for the Loco school for 12 years. He was a farmer and custom combiner.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; three sons, Dale Lockhart, Wellington, Don Lockhart, Moore, Oklahoma, Bill Lockhart, Memphis; one daughter, Carolyn Roberts, Comanche, Oklahoma.
Following the death of his daughter, Deann Vassey, he helped raise four of his grandchildren, Mickey Vassey of Denton, Terri Vassey Taylor, Amarillo, David Vassey of Wellington and Steven Vassey, Amarillo.
Other grandchildren are: Thad Roberts, Dallas; David Roberts, Lubbock; Scott Lockhart, Fort Worth; Chere' Myers, El Reno, Oklahoma and Tammy Hutcherson, Memphis and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Shane Lockhart and 2 great grandsons, Stacy Vassey and Rodney Lockhart.
