Mrs. Ida May Loughman, 78, widow of H. Melville Loughman, resident of Flint Ridge Road, died at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday in Newark Hospital after a week's serious illness. She had been in failing health two years.
Mrs. Loughman's death followed that of her husband by seven weeks. She had lived most of her life in Licking County, but was born Aug. 29, 1872 in Parkersburg WV. He parents were William and Sarah E. (Dillon) Newlon. She was a member of St. Nicholas' Catholic Church, Zanesville OH.
A son Emmett preceded her in death and a brother is also deceased. Surviving are four sisters: Mrs. Howard Rine of the Claylick vicinity, Mrs. Jesse Hawke, Mrs. Alice Myers and Mrs. Laura Ramsey, all of Newark.
The body is at Criss Brothers Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday with a requiem mass in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament and burial will be made in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
*Ida married George B. Loughman in 1888. She married Harry M. Loughman in 1990.
