Margaret was the daughter of David Werner, who was a Miller and Maria/Mary Schrieber. She was born in the Hanover PA Area, most likely in Mt Pleasant, Adams Co, but may have been York Co. She was not born Catholic, but at some point converted.

On November 17, 1833 in the Conewago Chapel, Edgegrove, Adams Co, Pa she marries Charles Will, a farmer.

Up to 1860, the family farmed in Adams County, but in 1860 the family moves to Gettysburg PA. In Gettysburg, Charles and Margaret purchase the Globe Inn at 10 York Street. Along with their children, they ran the Globe Inn at 10 York St until 1864, including during the battle of Gettysburg.

For an interesting narrative of life in Gettysburg in general, and the Globe Inn specifically during the Battle of Gettysburg, there is an account written by John Charles Will, son of Charles and Margaret. The manuscript was presented to the National Park Service. A copy of this is available at the Adams County Historical Society, in Gettysburg.

After selling the Globe Inn in 1864, Charles and Margaret move to Baltimore MD, and then in the early 1870s, join their son Jacob in York PA

After the death of Charles, Margaret continues living in York on S College Ave to as late as 1886, with a couple of her Younger Children, then at S Penn St in the house next to her son Jacob.
