James G. Cavaness, 56

James George (Jimmie) Cavaness, 56, of Brady, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007 in Brady.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Aug. 18 at 10 a.m. at Cavness Cemetery in Mason County with Randall Larr officiating. Family visitation will be Friday, Aug. 17, from 6-8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home.

He was born Dec. 24, 1950, in Monahans, to James and Genevieve (Wartenbach) Cavaness. He was a machinist and a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and building model airplanes. He loved music, especially playing the guitar, writing songs, singing and playing the fiddle and harmonica.

Survivors include a son Jimmy Joe Cavaness of Burkett; a sister, Grace Mueller and special friend, Kenneth, of Brady; an uncle, Herb Cavness, and wife, Theresa, of Brady; a newphew James Cavaness McPherson of Kerrville; a step-niece, Melissa Park of Brownwood, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents and grandparents."
