Lawrence lived all of his life on the Schneider family farm south-east of Sedalia, Missouri, where he was born. He was a turkey farmer for many years. On June 22, 1937 he married Willie Mae Weymeyer. They went to Otterville, Missouri with Willie Mae's sister and brother-in-law Bernice and Clarence Ficken to a minister's home to be married. Three children were born to Lawrence & Willie Mae:
Barbara Ann Schneider Oswald, Larry Dean Schneider, Sheryl Louise (Schneider) Bottcher.
