Andre V. McBride-McCray was born May 20, 1950 to the parents of the late Worthington Albert Austin, and Alice McBride. Andre attended the D.C Public Schools and graduated from Anacostia Senior High School in 1968.

Andre was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and served during the Vietnam War. Andre was a special companion of the late Olivette Hamilton-Hawkins, they never married but in June 1971, they produced a beautiful daughter named Andrea V. McBride-Foreman named after Andre.

Andre was a wonderful person, but tragically his life was cut short due to the AIDS virus from years of heroin abuse. And on May 27, 2000 he died at the age of 50.

Andre leaves behind his memories to his family. Survivors are his mother Alice McCray of Washington, D.C. His brothers: Gregory McBride-Bey, Dana McCray, Jesse McCray, and Renaud McCray. His sisters Kimberly McCray & Renee McCray. His wonderful daughter Andrea V. Foreman and her husband Dwayne Foreman of Hampton, VA. He also leaves behind his two beautiful grandchildren Brionna J. Bell and D'Andre O. Foreman both of Hampton, VA. And a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Worthington Albert Austin and his stepfather Jesse McCray Jr. And his sister Sharon Darlene McCray.
