Dr. George C. Abel, veterinarian, was found dead at his home in Scott City. He was at home alone when he apparently suffered a fatal heart attack at the age of 73. For many years he was the only veterinarian serving Southwest Kansas. Approximately 30 years ago he established the Abel Funeral Home in Scott City. While operating the funeral home, he continued to serve the area as a veterinarian, retiring from that profession a year ago. He is survived by his widow and one son who is a colonel in the army.
